The Black Pits is very buggy (and now broken)

The start 2 games are great, simply the blackness pits is terrible. You can't make your ain characters (they outset off dead and can't be resurrected), and half way through playing there was an update and all the fonts all of a sudden changed and are now competely unreadablly small.

Now worthy of 5 stars

My originaly review from 2017 gave this this game merely 2 stars because the programmer was unable to provide the latest version of the game on the Mac App Store for years while updated versions of the game were available on other platforms (the MAS version was stuck on version 1.3 for iii years while the rest of the world was enjoying version 2.five).

Lo and behold, it now appears the programmer finally updated the MAS version. As a outcome, I tin now heartily recommend Baldur'southward Gate Ii Enhanced Edition. This is a classic RPG that has been given new life. Fantastic, mythic storylines filled with drama, romance, humor, and wit, Badlur'southward Gate EE has nearly endless replay value. Well worth the money if you love a good story and enjoy solid imaginative D&D gameplay. Buy it!

It's been 2 years since version one.3 came out, and version for other systems and platforms have moved on past version 2.0 and so some. The programmer has given cipher just non-believable excuses for why they tin't update the Mac App Store version of this game. I would take given this game 5 stars except for the fact that the Mac App Store version is seriously outdated, with hundreds more than bugs than the electric current version bachelor on Steam. There is no excuse for a failure to update of this magnitude. Do not buy.

No hope for updates?

I'm adding my voice to the complaints about a complete lack of updates since ane.three. It's as if Beamdog has abandoned the Mac App Store version of this game and that is severely disappointing. I'd say, "Lesson learned. I'll just purchase games on another platform from now on," but how is that an acceptable outcome?

Such a shame, because while a number of aspects of the game are dated, it's notwithstanding a cracking deal of fun to get that D&D set up. (Especially when information technology's hard to get a group of friends together for the actual tabletop game!)
